Breathe inside this cavernous space beneath the sky
That thin blue veil draped over the Earth
Cloaking a vast vacuity looming deep beyond comprehension
An obsidian glass dome that transcends time itself
Burning with spinning stars embedded in its bosom
Orbiting and colliding and drifting without end
Breathe inside this unceasing awe
This vivid phantasmagoria of light
That dances dressed in vibrant hues
Upon the thin surface of my eyes

Captured this wonderful shot of our lunar neighbor.
Floating almost 240,000 miles away,
She decided to smile on me that night.
I sometimes forget that space is engulfed with light,
Brimming from the edges of the sun and other stars.
But we are only witness to this light when it strikes an object,
A surface that yanks the light out of that deep darkness,
Flinging it out onto the face of the Earth,
Onto the face of our eyes,
Onto the face of our thoughts.
To contemplate such a tiny fragment in this vast awe that surrounds us!
What other mysteries hide quietly beneath the surface of space?
What other wonders hide patiently under the surface of contemplation?

Rivers beneath the sky
Spill over the cloudy banks
Crashing into formless rocks
Splashing into space itself
Into that vast void
Flows time into timelessness
Only the now exists
Light streaming simultaneous
The undercurrent swells
Rising out of blackness
Breaking through the surface to breathe
Reflecting off cloudy banks
Reflecting off the eye
Reflecting off the mind
Pulled out from under an endless river
That flows gently beneath the sky
