I often overlook the abundance of profound patterns weaving their way through my environment and my experiences.

Photography pulls me out of my head so that I can deviate from all those predictable perspectives, I can re-frame familiar spaces into mysteries unexplored, I can expose these thin slices of eternity to others, changing how we perceive and interact with a bubbling reality teeming with ominous unknowns, flashes of deep dread and abundant awe—all tangled up and held together by connections once unseen.

Bob Ross knew: “Beauty is everywhere.”

What if This is the Dream?

And tomorrow is the dream,
and the day after that,
day after day,
until you’re 73
and you fall onto the tracks
and as the train severs your head
you wake up with a terrific shock out of your own bed
covered in sweat,
heart racing,
the whirling memories of 73 years dreamt in a single night
quickly fading away with each passing second
you slow your breathing
you close your eyes
“What the hell was that?” you ask yourself
“Who was I?” you ask yourself
there is no response of course
just a few birds chirping outside the window lit by the rising sun
and you wonder if you’ve truly woken up
and you shake your head
and you tell yourself no more mushroom sandwiches before bed
and you stumble into the kitchen
turning on the coffee pot.

Music used with permission. Listen with headphones and watch with a large screen.

A narrative of photos and timelapse videos I shot in and around the city for the second instrumental track on LUX. I wanted to create a visual story that reflects how I experience this album.

“Nothingness” by In the Company of Serpents

A labor of love I put together for one of my favorite metal bands, In the Company of Serpents.

The first time I heard “Nothingness” live was at The Oriental (in Denver) when ItCoS opened for Godflesh. Some of the images you see in this video popped into my head that night as they played. It was an amazing experience, and I wanted to share what I saw in my mind that night. Metal on, my friends! \m/
